General daytime dancing @ St John’s Anglican Church Hall

The focus of these sessions will be on popular dances, including some from upcoming dance programmes.

Although the dances will be walked and taught, they will best suit those of intermediate level and above who know the common formations, including reels of three, reels of four, allemande, double triangles, reel/jig poussette, grand chain, figure of 8 across and on sides, and ladies’ chain, and can instantly identify corner positions.

Please bring your own water bottle or mug. St Johns is on the hill six minutes’ walk from the Johnsonville train station and bus hub.

Basics Region Class 2019 @ St David’s Multicultural Church Hall

Access to the venue is via Elizabeth St. Park in the car park and facing Britannia St, the hall is to the left through a wooden gate. The hall is behind the Presbyterian Church. You can also walk through to the car park from Britannia Street by walking down by the right of the community house.

Programme: Accessible to all

  • Most dances on the programme have been taught at Club at least once
  • Rod will repeat some and teach any remaining next Monday 15 July, so we’re all familiar with them
  • Most dances will also be walked on the night

Johnsonville Members: How can you help?

  • bring tartan rugs to club next Monday 15 July (if you can’t come early on 22 July)
  • bring a plate of finger food to share on the night
  • be there by 7.15pm to welcome our guests
  • wear a touch of tartan to add to the atmosphere

Talk to Elizabeth Ngan if you would like to help with supper duties

Let Kristin know if you can:

  • come at 6.45pm to help set up the hall
  • bring a ladder at 6.45pm

These sessions will provide independent dancers with the opportunity for dancing in the afternoon with people from other clubs as well as their own.

It is for those who would enjoy learning new dances and harder formations that they may not encounter at club. Dances will be walked if required.

Maureen Robson is leading the sessions.

Please bring your own water bottle or mug. St Johns is on the hill six minutes’ walk from the Johnsonville train station and bus hub.
