Johnsonville’s 2019 AGM and an evening of fun Halloween-themed dances
We may think of Halloween as an American invention, but Samhain (pronounced Sah-win) was historically a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter.
According to Wikipedia, it was widely observed throughout Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man with similar festivals held at the same time of year in other Celtic lands.
In the last few years it’s become a Club tradition to hold a fun night of Samhain-themed dances and music on our AGM night. Rod will bring us entertaining dances with a difference, some atmospheric music, some interesting moves, and lots of laughs as usual.
For those who like dressing up, start thinking about a bit (or a lot!) of Halloween themed costuming for the night – black and orange, witch’s hat, pumpkin, ghoul, ghost or whatever you like.
There are plenty of props to be found at The Warehouse, the $2 shops or the opshops! If you’re not into costuming, that’s fine too. Just come along and enjoy the fun.
