Hisako and Ian Ewing 2019

Ian in the centre

We welcomed Hisako and Ian Ewing to Club on 18 January 2019.

They were in Wellington to meet their new grandchild and came along for some dancing and to lend a helping hand to our new dancers.

Hisako and Ian were Johnsonville members in 2005-06, before moving to Australia.

Hisako and Ian Ewing 2018

We welcomed Hisako and Ian Ewing who were in Wellington visiting family on 20 August 2018.

Hisako and Ian were Johnsonville members in 2005-06, before moving to Australia.

In this photo taken in 2005, Hisako is at the far right of the set. Rod is on crutches following a knee operation and John M organising the music behind was also on crutches!

June Skinner and Nelson Stewart 2018

On 12 March 2018, we welcomed visitors Nelson Stewart and June Skinner from Denton Celtic Dancers, Denton, Texas.

They were here on a visit to their Wellington-based daughter and her partner.

In the second photo, Nelson dances with their Wellington-based daughter while June dances with her partner (he is at the rear in the striped shirt).

In the bottom photo, our tutor Rod Downey teaches pas de basque with visitors June Skinner and Nelson Stewart at the front left.

Graeme Plank 2017

We welcomed Graeme Plank, one of two tutors at the Tam O’Shanter Club in Christchurch, on 6 March 2017.

It was a catch-up opportunity for Emma and Kate who both stooged (being a dancing volunteer for teachers in training or in examinations) for Graeme at the 2016 Christchurch Summer School and for Joan at the 2014 Dunedin Summer School.

Graeme was in Wellington for a few days installing a LIDAR cloud ranger, a rain RADAR, a time lapse camera and meteorological balloon system on the Tangaroa.

Marion and Clive Warren-Smith 2017

On 20 February 2017 President Kristin Downey welcomed Marion and Clive Warren-Smith who belong to the Bristol Branch (and the International Branch) of the RSCDS.

They dance in several groups, including running a beginners class in Cheddar (as of cheese, and Gorge fame).

The other photos are club members dancing Ceilidh Madness (from one of the Let’s All Dance books) with Clive and Marion.
