Daytime dancing for experienced dancers @ St John’s Anglican Church Hall
Jun 25 @ 12:45 pm – 2:45 pm

These sessions will provide independent dancers with the opportunity for dancing in the afternoon with people from other clubs as well as their own.

It is for those who would enjoy learning new dances and harder formations that they may not encounter at club. Dances will be walked if required.

Please bring your own water bottle or mug. St Johns is on the hill six minutes’ walk from the Johnsonville train station and bus hub.

Access to the venue is via Elizabeth St. Park in the car park and facing Britannia St, the hall is to the left through a wooden gate. The hall is behind the Presbyterian Church. You can also walk through to the car park from Britannia Street by walking down by the right of the community house.

Celebrate the Winter Solstice in grand style!

Ngaio has extended this invitation to Johnsonville, Kelburn, Capital City, Linden, and Tawa clubs.

Dinner 7.30pm followed by dancing with live music from Aileen & Hilary.

$38 per person

Payment can be made by either:

Reels Class 2019 @ Tawa Union Church Hall
Jul 6 @ 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm

Do you wish to have the mysteries of the reel of three and reel of four revealed?

If so, come along to this class.

Find out about all kinds of reels – right shoulder, left shoulder, parallel, mirror, on opposite sides, on the sides, across the dance, on the diagonal – in Reel, Jig and Strathspey time.

Open to members of any clubs, there is no need to book ahead, just turn up.

General daytime dancing @ St John’s Anglican Church Hall

The focus of these sessions will be on popular dances, including some from upcoming dance programmes.

Although the dances will be walked and taught, they will best suit those of intermediate level and above who know the common formations, including reels of three, reels of four, allemande, double triangles, reel/jig poussette, grand chain, figure of 8 across and on sides, and ladies’ chain, and can instantly identify corner positions.
