Johnsonville Dancers: Join in the fun!

Johnsonville’s 2023 Club Dinner-dance is all about Stars and Stripes. Come along dressed in stars or stripes, as a tiger or a zebra, a star of the stage or screen, or just the star that you are. Family and friends welcome to this fun-filled evening of socialising, dancing and eating!
A Fun-filled Evening
As usual, there will be:
- Good food and good company
- Time to get to know your fellow club members off the dance floor
- Fun (Stars or Stripes) dances brought to us by Rod
- Lots of colourful (Stars or Stripes) decorations
- Easy options for dressing-up to celebrate the event’s (Stars or Stripes) theme
- The opportunity for family members or friends to join us.
- 5.30-6.00pm: arrive and chat over nibbles supplied by the club, buy a drink if you like, marvel at all the stars and stripes around you
- 6.00pm: pre-ordered meals are served in the upstairs function room
- 6.45pm onwards: dance, chat, rest, mingle
- 8.00pm: pre-ordered dessert is served, including fruit salad supplied by the club
- Later: we’ll dance some more, then take down decorations etc, to finish by 9.30pm
New Venue
The function room at the Johnsonville Club Inc, 1 Norman Lane, Johnsonville (up the laneway between CareVets and the Collective Community Hub).
Door Charge
FREE for Johnsonville Scottish Country Dance Club Members, $5 each for all guests (including children).
Dinner
Supplied by The Capital Bistro, the onsite restaurant. What you pay depends on which food you select when you register for the event. Vegan, GF and DF options are available to choose from.
At the time of booking members pre-order food for themselves and guests from the menu we’ve supplied, and pay into the Johnsonville Scottish Country Dance Club account at the same time.
Take note of the cost of your meals as you enter them. You will need to pay the total and enter it later in the form before submitting your registration.

BOOK AND PAY by FRIDAY 1 September for Club members and all guests. We need to confirm numbers and dinner orders to the restaurant on Saturday 2 September.

Scottish Country Dancing is a fun way to get fit and make new friends – all with toe-tapping Celtic music!
We welcome you to our Beginners’ Classes on 12, 19 & 26 February, 7.30pm-9.30pm on Monday nights at Khandallah Town Hall, 11 Ganges Road, Khandallah, Wellington.
Our classes suit all ages from teenagers and upwards. You can get up to 5,000 steps of your daily target for steps in a night of dancing!
First Class: Monday, 12 February
Doors open at 7.15pm. Come along then on the first night to register and be ready to dance at 7.30pm. Pay by cash at the door.
Our tutor Rod Downey will introduce the steps over the three weeks and you’ll be up and dancing during the first evening.
- This is social dancing and we all dance together and help each other
- No partner is needed – come by yourself or with a friend
- Wear soft shoes and light comfortable clothing
- Just $5 for each class – pay by cash at the door

It is for those who would enjoy learning new dances and harder formations that they may not encounter at club. Dances will be walked if required.
Please bring your own water bottle. St Johns is on the hill six minutes’ walk from the Johnsonville train station and bus hub.
